Deliveries of Airbus’ newest member of its corporate jet (ACJ) family of large business jets, the ACJ TwoTwenty, have begun in the Asia-Pacific region. The first aircraft of this type to be delivered there – and the fourth ACJ TwoTwenty to enter service worldwide – will provide increased productivity and efficiency for its new owner, a large corporation.
The first three ACJ TwoTwenty’s were delivered to the Middle East between 2023 and 2025. Going forward, the next two customers, numbers ‘five’ and ‘six’, are based in Asia: one is planned for delivery next year, and another the year after.
First turnkey contract
The first delivery in Asia is also the first ‘turnkey’ ACJ TwoTwenty contract, whereby the interior outfitting was undertaken prior to delivery by a partner and under ACJ’s cabin project management. In this case, Comlux which finalised the aircraft. Moreover, once it is in service, the aircraft will be managed and maintained by Jet Aviation.
Jet Aviation’s Singapore facility became an ACJ Service Centre Network (SCN) member in March 2025 offering Asian-based ACJ customers immediate access to authorised maintenance, refurbishment, and warranty services at one of the region's premier aviation hubs.
Chadi Saade, President of Airbus Corporate Jets, said:
“We are delighted that the ACJ TwoTwenty is making its debut in Asia, carving out a new market segment – ‘The Xtra Large Bizjet. By combining its intercontinental range and cabin space with the local technical expertise of Jet Aviation Singapore, we are delivering a complete ecosystem. Our customers in Asia will now benefit from the most advanced corporate jet on the market, backed by the peace of mind that comes from a certified local service partner.”
A natural upgrade from traditional large business jets…
The three customers secured in Asia were previously traditional business jet owners, specifically the audience being targeted with the ACJ product. These groups, typically flying heavy and long range jets, are now looking to upgrade. For a similar acquisition cost, the ACJ TwoTwenty offers two and a half times more cabin space than the competing aircraft, as well as extra comfort, functionality, and more possibilities for work, rest, and entertainment.
Outstanding takeoff performance
A very important advantage of the ACJ TwoTwenty compared to the competition is its outstanding takeoff performance. Even though it is bigger and heavier than a traditional ‘biz-jet’, this ACJ can depart from shorter runways. This attribute is critical to operate from smaller business aviation airports, like Seletar in Singapore, because it can depart at maximum takeoff weight there (and thus with a full fuel load), giving it about the same practical range as the competition from that airport.
Carving out a new market category: the “Xtra Large Bizjet”
The ACJ TwoTwenty is carving out and introducing a whole new market segment – ‘The Xtra Large Bizjet’ – to one of the world’s most dynamic ACJ markets. This is because it offers twice the cabin real estate compared to similarly priced ULR business jets with market-leading fuel efficiency and unrivaled reliability. It occupies the same parking footprint as competitive ULR jets and can take off from the same airports, but the ACJ TwoTwenty operating costs are about one-third less.
With a range of up to 5,650 nm (more than 12 flight hours), the ACJ TwoTwenty – which is the special corporate variant based on the state-of-the-art A220 – can meet the requirements of 98.6% of Asia departures, connecting city pairs including Hong Kong to Anchorage, Singapore to Auckland and Jakarta to Ankara. It also offers non-stop travel across the whole of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East, satisfying the large majority of customer requirements.
As with all ACJ aircraft, the ACJ TwoTwenty is capable of flying with up to a 50% blend of kerosene and sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) while keeping to the technical specifications of Jet A. All Airbus commercial aircraft and helicopters will be capable of operating with 100% SAF by 2030. This capability will play an important role in the sector’s decarbonisation journey.
